With over 30 years’ experience in the hairdressing industry Shelley Line has a reputation as a technical, educational and business expert. With outstanding knowledge in all aspects of hairdressing and the industry Shelley’s experiences range from creative and technical salon work, salon ownership, technical consultancy, product development, business development, account executive, project management, recruitment consultancy, mentoring, business consultancy, examiner, assessor and is an author for the City and Guilds textbooks, exam papers and online learning resources. Her insight into hair classifications and how to cascade this into the hairdressing industry has resulted in her work being published in many trade magazines and being an active member of the National Advisory Committee for Hairdressing.
In 2012 Shelley launched her recruitment consultancy which specialises in placing hairdressers that are skilled in all hair types into businesses that wish to ensure that they are offering a fully inclusive service on the high street (a huge gap in the UK hairdressing service offering). 2014 Shelley fulfilled one of her dreams and launched The Curl Care Project supported by National Lottery this project has educated hundreds of carers, social workers, foster parents and anyone within the care system to understand the needs of people with excessively curly hair and all hair textures. Most recently her investment in ongoing development and understanding of all hair types is what sets Shelley Line apart from other consultants and education providers. Shelley was the host and organiser of the Afro and Texture stage at Pro Hair Live, Educational Presenter for Inoar UK at Salon International alongside carrying out masterclasses for City and Guilds, NHF and the Good Salon Guide on how to use appropriate language and the skills required to work on all hair types.
Shelley has worked with and educated some of the world’s leading hairdressers and also works as a fully qualified Consultant Trichologist.
